At Other, we have ensured that SafetyMode prioritises the security and privacy of your family's data. Here's exactly what that means:
On-Device Processing
Screen Content Protection
- All screen content, text, and images are processed entirely on your child's device
- No visual content ever leaves the phone
- Any screen content you don't explicitly choose to save is automatically deleted
Local AI Models Our content filtering models run completely on-device, optimized for speed and accuracy while maintaining a small footprint.
Android Security Notice The pop-up that appears when the device starts is a standard Android notification required for any app with screen recording permissions. This is an Android security feature, not a SafetyMode-specific message. We cannot see passwords, personal data, or any content on the phone.
Data That Leaves the Device
Only two types of data are transmitted from your child's phone:
1. Remote Management Data
Allows you to configure and monitor the device from your parent app:
- Password reset requests
- SafetyMode configuration settings (e.g., content filter levels)
- Location tracking information
2. Anonymized Technical Data
Helps us improve SafetyMode performance and stability:
- Crash reports and error logs (no personal information included)
- Anonymous usage patterns to enhance features
Summary: Your child's actual content—what they see, type, or view—never leaves their device. Only configuration settings and location data are accessible remotely, and technical diagnostics are fully anonymized.
